This offseason, the Charlotte Hornets have the 11th pick in the first round of the NBA Draft. The Hornets are not known for how they draft, while only drafting one All-Star who is still on the team.

The Hornets a still in the rebuilding stages but, have tons of potential with the players and coaching staff they have. There are three players in the NBA Draft that can help Charlotte currently and in the future.

1. Justin Jackson (North Carolina, Small Forward, Junior)

Justin Jackson out of North Carolina would be a great player for the Hornets. Jackson is a lengthy player with a consistent jumper that could have a nice career in the league. Currently, the Hornets’ starting small forward is Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Kidd-Gilchrist has not performed well after being drafted 2nd overall in 2012. If the Hornets draft Jackson, he could be the great forward that they need.

2. Zach Collins (Gonzaga, Center, Freshman)

Zach Collins is a 7’0″ center with a 7’1″ wingspan. Collins is a great rebounder that can score well in the post. The freshman really stood out during the 2017 NCAA Final against North Carolina. Charlotte is known for drafting 7-foot centers who had a successful college career. Although it their current centers weren’t the best picks, Collins has the ability and potential to be a big star for the Hornets.

3. Luke Kennard (Duke, Shooting Guard, Sophomore)

Luke Kennard is a 6’6″ shooting guard who can shoot the ball and pass tremendously. Kennard is a very hard worker and productive player, as he was a big key player to Duke’s success this year. Not only can he play the game well, but he also has a great understanding of the game, knowing where to be and always thinking ahead before his team runs a play. The 21-year-old could be a future star as he would play behind Nic Batum.

When the Hornets are on the clock, one of these players will be most likely to be picked. If you’re a Hornets fan, you’ll be happy with your team’s future if any of these three are selected 11th overall.
