Best Player On Each Eastern Conference MLS Team

Atlanta United FC: Miguel Almirón

Miguel Almirón has proved to be the best for Atlanta United FC. At 22, Almirón has 8 goals and 6 assists this season which is very impressive for his first MLS season. He is very crafty player who helps lead the team and control how they play in game. Almirón has been the main reason for most of Atlanta’s wins and is easily a fan favorite.

Chicago Fire: David Accam

David Accam is a terrific player who exceeds with the ball at his feet. He leads his team in assists with 6 and is second in scoring with 10 goals to his name. The 26 year old is a key player for his team and is a great leader.

Columbus Crew SC: Justin Meram

Justin Meram is a terrific all around player for the Columbus Crew SC leading the team with 5 assists and is 3rd in goals with 8. Meram is 28 and could be near the end of his career but is currently playing great. Not only is he a great player, but a great leader to the younger players showing that you can be great even if you don’t score all the goals.

DC United: Luciano Acosta

Luciano Acosta is a 23-year-old midfielder for DC United, from Argentina. Acosta currently leads his team in both goals and assists with 4 goals and 2 assists. He is a very crafty and creative player who can beat many defenders to setup or score a goal. The Argentina native is 5’3″ and 130 pounds, which is very small playing in the midfield. Although his size is small, his potential is huge.

Montreal Impact: Ignacio Piatti

Ignacio Piatti, a great player who does more than score, currently leads his team with 8 goals and is second in assists with 3. Piatti is a great attacking player who can avoid trouble with his dribbling and can easily avoid tough situations. The 32-year-old still has enough in the tank to play for multiple more seasons.

New England Revolution: Lee Nguyen

Lee Nguyen is a very special player who looks to be at the peak of his career currently. He leads his team in both goals and assists, currently with 7 goals and 5 assists. Nguyen also played with the United States National Team and is a key player with his dribbling and speed.

New York FC: David Villa

David Villa, what a spectacular player. At 35 years old, he never surprises as he continues to play on a whole other level. The Spanish star exceeds at attacking the goal with 11 goals and is a pretty good passer with 3 assists.

New York Red Bulls: Bradley Wright-Phillips

At 32 years old, Bradley Wright-Phillips continues to please the New York Red Bulls supporters. The English forward has terrific attacking play currently with 9 goals in the season. Wright-Phillips is a little bit to selfish as a player with no assists this season as he only looks for goals.

Orlando City SC: Kaka

Kaka is a world class player, many say he is a legend. He never disappoints as he is one of the most unselfish players in the league. The Brazilian star has excellent passing skills and is a great all around player who helps lead his team.

Philadelphia Union: C. J. Sapong

C. J. Sapong is a 28-year-old American forward who currently has 9 goals this season for the Philadelphia Union. Sapong is a very creative and special player being able to put many shots in goal. He is a key player to Philadelphia’s success and the fans and players really enjoy having him on the team.

Toronto FC: Sebastian Giovinco

Sebastian Giovinco is a very talented player who has great speed and dribbling that makes him one of the best forwards in the league. Giovinco won the 2015 MVP and lead his team to the MLS Cup Finals in 2016 but lost to the Seattle Sounders. The 30 year old is a very special player in the MLS and I would continue to expect big things from him.
