After years and years of trying to sign a top striker Arsenal finally get one.Arsenal signed Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette for a club record fee of 53 million euros. This signing comes in wake of reports that Oliver Giroud and Theo Walcott may leave the club.
Alexandre Lacazette is a big one for Arsenal. He creates space by moving off the ball. Lacazette is a great finisher, something that Arsenal struggled with last year.
Arsenal need to work on Lacazette fouling less. He fouls too much and that leads to yellow and red cards. They need to minimize his fouls if they want him to have a big impact.
These formations are based on if Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil stay.
This was Arsenal’s formation during the beginning of the season. Their back line is very strong with Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi, Laurent Koscielny, and Nacho Monreal. The 2 holding midfielders will most likely be Francis Coquelin, and Granit Xhaka. The two wingers will be Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil with Aaron Ramsey in the middles supporting them. Alexandre Lacazette will likely be up top.
This formation can be played two ways. One is where there are wing backs and one with wingers.
Arsenal switched to three in the back later in the season. The back three is very strong with Laurent Koscienly, Shkrodan Mustafi, and Nacho Monreal. Out wide will be Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Alex Iwobi supported by Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka. The two attacking midfielders will be Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. The forward will be Alexandre Lacazette.

Grade the Signing: A
This is a great signing for Arsenal. They get a finisher that they need and a hard worker who has proven he has the drive to win. This attack could be deadly and could cause trouble to teams across Europe. This may be the next big three (Sanchez, Ozil and Lacazette).
