Manchester United have agreed a $97M(75 million pounds) fee for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, according to Sky Sports. Though there has not been news of Lukaku having a medical the Red Devils, Man United are confident a deal will be finalized for the Belgian.

Ever since moving to Everton in 2013, Lukaku has scored 87 goals in 166 appearances, surpassing Duncan Ferguson as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer. Even though he was banging in goals season after season for the Toffees’, Lukaku rejected a 5-year contract offer worth 140,000 pounds in March, leaving his future undecided.

Now, Man United have had numerous links to players: Antoine Griezmann, Alvaro Morata and even Cristiano Ronaldo, but they never seem to get it done. Looking at Man United’s squad, they only have Anthony Martial, Wayne Rooney and Marcus Rashford.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic gone, Rooney seriously linked to Everto,n and Martial completely abandoned by Jose Mourinho, it looks like the Red Devils are in serious need of a goalscorer. With Romelu Lukaku, Man United could take a big step forward into becoming the team they once were.

Ever since Sr. Alex Ferguson retired, Man United haven’t been the same, already having 3 manager in 4 years (David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho). Even after them winning the Europa League, EFL Cup, and the Community Shield, it still does not cut it for their standards.

If Man United get this deal done, their chances of getting back to their glory days will increase. Sure, this a rumor, but there is a high chance of the deal being completed due to multiple major sources talking about it. We will just have to see over these next few days.
