Patriots Training Camp Day 3 Recap

Day 3 of training camp is over and for the first time this season, pads were on. Practice was somewhat shorter.

Tom Brady went 20/23 with an INT, Jimmy Garoppolo went 13/18 with an INT, and Jacoby Brissett went 13/16. Another solid day for the quarterbacks.

Mike Gillislee got the first goal line touches with pads on and showed great power during these touches. Brandon Bolden left practice for an unknown reason and did not return.

Both Malcom Mitchell and Danny Amendola returned to practice but were not full participants today. Cody Hollister was absent after getting hurt yesterday.

Brandin Cooks torched Justin Coleman on a deep pass and returned punts with Julian Edelman as well. Tom Brady hit Edelman on a flea flicker.

Joe Cardona returned to practice after his commitments to the navy. Geneo Grissom and Lawrence Guy played with the starters today. Once again, for the third straight day Rob Ninkovich was absent.

Jordan Richards intercepted Tom Brady for his pick of camp during 1v1 drills. Kenny Moore had an INT off Brissett, another good day for him. Matt Patricia lost his mind at the defense during 11v11’s.

Duron Harmon went down with a right leg injury and walked off the field gingerly. After trainers looked at him, he looked okay, but did not return to practice. He was however stretching with the team later and should be okay.

Jordan Richards had himself a nice day as he made a nice breakup on Gronkowski. He continues to have a nice camp so far. David Jones was not a full participant today. Cyrus Jones was returning punts again.

In a bit of not-so-good performance, Ryan Allen had a bad day as he shanked a lot of punts during practice. His performance today could be a one-off type day, he should perform better as camp goes on.
